The Princess Diaries probably still lives in everyone’s heart as the adorable saga of the girl turned-princess and her incredible journey. When a movie hits the scene that well, producers and writers immediately think of how big a stretch they can go. This one is no different – Princess Diaries 3 is confirmed! But the center of attention is actress Julie Andrews!
Princess Diaries 1 Was a Hit
The first movie was a hit right from the start. It was a typical/atypical teenage girl transformation — only the girl was to be a princess after the change. Adorable and quirky Mia Thermopolis didn’t know anything about royalty until her grandma, the queen of Genovia, played by Julie Andrews, came to tell her she would soon become a queen!
Princess Diaries 2 Followed Quickly
The second installment of the Disney movie wasn’t too far behind. Princess Diaries 2 came along in 2004, only three short years after the first. It was all About Mia finding a suitable prince. Her grandmother was present throughout the film and another splendid installment. Now it’s time for Princess Diaries 3!
Time for Princess Diaries 3
Finally, more than 21 years after first being introduced to Genovia, Disney+ has confirmed a third installment for the lovely series. Not much is known about the script, although everyone is hoping there will be more about Genovia and the new queen Mia’s development. While in the works, more information will probably soon be released. But there is one thing we know, and it’s upsetting to most!
Julie Andrews recently stated she strongly doubts she will be returning for Princess Diaries 3. She says it has been many years, and she last debuted on stage in 2017. If she were to return, the plot would have to be something wonderful. We stand to see whether or not she will reprise her role as Mia’s grandmother – the Queen of Genovia!
